The crowd sang along quite loudly to the last three songs. They ended off the show with awesome performances of their hit songs “Send the Pain Below”, “The Red” and “Face to the floor”. These Joburg boys truly know how to get the party started. Chevelle stepped onto the stage at 8 PM and completely blew the crowd away with songs like “Jars”, “The Meddler”, “Letter from the Thief”, “Vitamin R” and others. Misheard Lyrics: All the castles of, all the screaming fans. The opening act Shadowclub rocked the Joburg crowd to the max and got them in the mood for a rocking evening. The Big Top Arena is a pretty awesome venue though.
It was interesting experiencing an arena rock scenario at Carnival City, because I’m not really used to it. Unlike the Cape Town show, the Johannesburg show was sold out a few weeks after the tour was announced by Hilltop Live.
